CGN specializes in sound system design.  We have a particular focus on the pro audio industry but we have also produced a number of products for our CE customers.  Over the years we have with worked with several large companies to develop the right OEM speakers for their product line.   We can source or tool a variety of loudspeaker parts. One of our trademark speaker components is pictured in slhouette form on the right, the B-Hive motor.  Form follows function with this proprietary invention.  This is a radical  approach to speaker design that uses a neodymium ring magnet that is encased in a low carbon steel pot structure.  The key advantage of  this design is  high excursion.  Some of the other benefits of this approach include high efficiency, low distortion, and high output  bass with extended frequency response.  For more information see the  full woofer cut away on the second page

We also market the Lorentz Audio speaker brand.  This name is a tribute to the man that put forth the fundamental laws of Physics under which all dynamic loudspeakers operate.

Lorentz's Law, yields that the force on a moving charge due to a magnetic field:

F=qV*B*sin(theta)

F is directed according to the right hand rule. 

This essentially means that when positive current is connected to the voice coil wire in the magnetic gap the resulting force moves the cone outward. Reverse the polarity and the force now acts to pull the cone  inward towards the speaker basket.

For complete specifications of our modular column full range loudspeakers go to http://www.ribbonloudspeakers.com  The newest  all NEO6.5" Version of the CGN6685 Line array contains 6 x 6.5" woofers and 5 x 8" ribbons. Thet total weight of the neo line array is only 26 Lbs!(11.8 Kgs.) That's a weight savings of 12 Lbs.( 5.5 Kgs.) 32% per cabinet over the ceramic magnet version.  The Neo 6.5" woofers use high temperature Neodymium magnets that are extremely powerful and  ultra lightweight. These woofers are MADE in the USA.  When these all Neo CGN6685 speakers are stacked up the weight savings quickly add up.  Some additional benefits include video shielding so they can be used around computers, CRT monitors and magnetically sensitive recording media. No stray magnetic flux means that these speakers are more cost effective to use and transport. The NE06.5"6685 Line Array Meter Module is more efficient and puts out more SPL/mass!

The speakers are by far the weakest link in the signal chain. No amount of DSP can fix distortion or poor polar response.

One of the forefronts of technology today is in the area of LED lighting. We have been researching the combining of components for a while an developed LEDloudspeakers. This is a new approach. This is a family of speakers combined with light emitting diodes. Please note these LEDs are not the flashing type that change to the signal level. They function more like a light fixture. These speakers are able to produce sound & light from one controlled point source.  Listen and see in just about any space with these high tech devices.
