We are your ribbon network on the web. We know the benefits and limitations of ribbon drivers.  Experts in loudspeaker design, we can provide the right ribbon transducer for your application. Well-made ribbon drivers are capable of producing accurate, low distortion sound.  Transient response is extremely fast and the top end response typically extends beyond 40 kHz.  Most ribbons have a very thin form factor compared to conventional dynamic drivers.  The flat radiating area of a ribbon is evenly driven across the entire face and produces a coherent wave front.  It's a minimalist approach to producing sound that completely eliminates any throats, phase plugs or voice coil formers.  The diaphragm is extremely  light weight and ideally coupled to the air load.  Dispersion is very even over the entire frequency range.  Planar ribbons are typically a resistive load (non-inductive) so just about any amplifier can easily drive them.  This also makes passive crossover design much more straight forward.  Networks can be made much more simpler and yield smoother transitions between components.  The dynamic range of the system increases and the polar pattern is more consistent.  The latest ribbons use powerful Neodymium magnets, high temperature adhesives and durable Kapton diaphragms.  Performance has improved dramatically.  Increased efficiency along with high power handling capabilities combine to produce audiophile quality sound at pro audio quantities.
